New Hope Seminary Ledger & Neely Farm Ledger 1870-1873 of Rev. E.R. Shapard

Note: This ledger was carried by Rev. E.R. Shapard from 1870 - 1873 to record the finances of his interest in the Neely Farm of Nashville, Tennessee. After Rev. Shapard moved to Indian Territory in 1872, he used this same ledger to record the finances of the New Hope Seminary of which he was the Superintendent. The Neely Farm & New Hope Ledger 1870-1873 is a tan calf skin bound journal with blue horizontal and red vertical lined guides on each page. Entries are made partially in pencil and partially in ink. Ledger measures 4 1/2" X 7 1/8". Outside cover is handwritten in faded ink "New Hope." Page edges are marbleized in red and blue swirls.
